How far in advance should I book my session?
We usually book sessions several weeks, or even months, in advance, so it's never too early to get on the calendar! If you are booking a senior portrait session, we recommend the fall or no later than spring of their senior year.
What is your style of photography?
We try to work with each person or family and their own comfort and personality but overall we consider our style to be, well, fun and interactive! We look at every photo session as a chance to tell your story! Our poses are often based on person, the size of the family, the location, but once we get those set up, we encourage relaxing and having a great time. We quite often hear from our clients (especially seniors and husbands) how much more fun they had than they expected! We are not the dentist, right?!
What should we wear?
We recommend choosing one person's outfit and build on the colors in that or choose two or three colors you love together and have everyone wear outfits in variations of those colors. We also talk to you after you book your session about these things and locations and get to know how we can best make your session memorable and worthwhile.
For senior portraits, we recommend two outfits, one casual like you'd wear to school perhaps, and one a tad dressier. We also recommend you bring a ball uniform, band gear, anything that is you during this time! But if you only want to wear one outfit, that's okay too!
Do you have locations we can use or will you come to our location?
We have a few local locations that we can recommend but we are also open to coming to you if you have your own property or location that is special to you! If we are photographing a senior, we also recommend shooting at their school, if they'd like, or on the court or field, a place that they've spent a lot of time.
What do we do if the weather is bad on our photo day?
We watch the forecast closely prior to your shoot and will decide 24 hours in advance based on the forecast whether the session needs to be rescheduled. This usually only happens in the event of 40% chance or more of rain/snow/ice or if the temperatures are going to be below about 45 degrees.
What if my kids don't cooperate?
We love getting to know the kids at our sessions, even the stubborn ones! We approach them as a new friend on a play date and we have great patience because we know how important them feeling comfortable and natural is. That being said, not every session is perfect but we promise to do all we can do, including all our tricks, to make it successful. The bottom line is capturing their personality as they are right now.
How long will it take to see my images?
We will have your proofs ready to view within approximately 14 days of your session depending on the season. After your session, we will go ahead and set up your Big Reveal appointment to see your images so you will already know when to expect the excitement!
What are your payment options?
We accept cash, credit cards, and checks. We are required to charge NC sales tax on all payments. We also work with you on payment options because we want you to get all that you want from this session. When we meet with you for your Reveal Appointment, we are happy to discuss payment options with you if you'd like, no pressure, no worries!
How much are prints and products?
Prints begin at $10, canvases begin at approximately $100, and framed prints about the same. Storybooks and albums range from $150 to $300 and up depending on the style, leather, cover, and number of images. We will share our complete pricing information with you when you reach out to schedule your appointment before your reveal appointment.
